When a toddler who has been sleeping well suddenly changes the sleeping habits, it is usually referred to as sleep regression. The toddler starts waking up at night several times than he or she has been doing, or refuses to sleep entirely and take longer to fall asleep. The regression may occur at the age of 4 months, 9 months or even the age of 18 months. At the age of 4 to 6 months, the baby has started noticing the things around him or her. Change of feeding schedule can also lead to 4 month regression. The toddler might not sleep well if fed earlier than usual. Avoid frequent altering of the feeding timetable, but if the change is inevitable, the baby will adapt with time.
